What is Winter Guard?
Winter Guard is an indoor color guard activity that combines elements of dance, flag, rifle, and saber techniques. Our training program offers a creative space for exploring innovative movement and performance concepts. Allowing our members to showcase their talent. It's more than just "flags in a gym"! It's the "Sport of the Arts"!
Competitions
Our members have the opportunity to showcase their abilities at weekly competitions. Allowing them to grow as individuals and as a team. Competing every other week or so. At various area High Schools. All around New Jersey and into Pennsylvania as well. Our competition season starts at the beginning of February. Continuing through the beginning of May. Finishing up with our championship weekend in Wildwood, NJ.
Practice Schedule
We usually get together a few times over the course of the summer. To maintain our skill level and welcome any new members. Who may be interested in performing with us, come our competition season. Once school begins in September, we host open gym nights. Which are Mondays and Tuesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Where you can come down and give us a try! No commitment necessary at this time! Come meet the staff and our veteran performers.
Practices begin in November, right after Marching Band Season is over and continue through the beginning of May. Three times a week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. With the addition of 3 or 4 Saturday Camps, 3:00 to 8:00 PM, prior to the start of our season.
